One Direction is a British-Irish boy band consisting of members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik. They competed on the seventh series of The X Factor, taking 3rd. They were later signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records and Columbia Records in North America. In November 2011, the band released their first album, Up All Night, in the UK and Ireland. On March 13th, 2012, Up All Night was released in the US. In November, 2012, One Direction released their second studio album, Take Me Home, around the globe. Take Me Home topped charts in thirty-five countries and sold over one million copies worldwide in its first week.
