Niall Horan was born on September 13th, 1993 in Mullingar, Ireland to Maura and Bobby Horan. Niall has one older brother, Greg, 22. The Horan brother’s parents divorced when Niall was 5 years old. For a Christmas present, Niall received a guitar and has been playing ever since. Niall gained singing experience by singing in his school’s choir. His family recognized his talent, and in 2010 convinced him to audition for the X Factor. He auditioned with “So Sick”, and went on to bootcamp. There he sang “Champagne Supernova” but was cut. Niall was then asked to come back with 4 other cut soloists, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, and continue on as a group under the name One Direction. They went on to take 3rd overall.
